Responsibilities:
Akamai Technologies Inc. (NASDAQ: AKAM) a provider of products and services that enable the world's leading enterprises and government agencies to extend and control their e-business infrastructure, is looking for a technical consultant to support the rapidly growing sales operations of it’s Asia-Pacific business, based in Singapore.
The Position is responsible for the presales technical consulting and solution architecture, across Asia-Pacific (excluding Japan).

Objectives for the position:

• Support the Regional Sales Manager and Account Executives in exceeding the bookings quota from a technical standpoint
• To play a pivotal role in the international Technical Consulting community
• Lead technical training of sales team

The role:

• Technical Consultants (SEs) support the sales team through the process of analyzing technical requirements, to architecting solutions. SEs must understand business drivers, match those to Akamai’s technology and clearly articulate complex solutions to prospective customers.
• SEs must possess the highest levels of both business and technical acumen, and form the critical link in securing Akamai’s impressive client roster.
• Reporting to the Director of Asia-Pacific, this Technical Consultant role is distinguished by the ability to take on the most demanding business and technical challenges.
• The Technical Consultant is expected to demonstrate a high standard of leadership - playing an active role in the development and mentoring of the members of the technical consulting and sales organizations.
• You are an ambitious self-starter, keen to be part of a dynamic team, and comfortable with high expectations.

Qualifications:

• Bachelors Degree in Engineering or Computer Science.
• Excellent business writing, communication, and presentation skills.
• Detailed knowledge across the spectrum of Internet technologies.
• Thorough understanding of eCommerce, On-line Marketing, Web Analytics, Security.
• J2EE, .NET, Web Services experience a plus.
• Proven analytical abilities, a strong work ethic, and a strong desire to join a performance team
• Willingness to travel
• 6+ years in supporting the sale of solutions in a professional services environment
• Enterprise customer engagements

• Pan-Asia client engagements
• English fluent written & spoken
• Mandarin proficiency
