Job description:

Responsibilities:
- Monitor and troubleshoot backup activity within Pixar¿s complex environment.
- Process multiple backup reports during each shift and report anomalies to day crew.
- Assist with backup verification and tape management processes.
- Monitor equipment and serve as first point of contact for all systems and equipment malfunctions (i.e. network, servers, and machine room temperature).
- Perform hardware builds and complete general Unix user requests.
- Coordinate tasks and projects with night and day colleagues.
- Other duties, including but not limited to, documentation and employee moves, assigned as needed.
Monday-Friday 5pm to 2am plus overtime as needed
Periodic on-call duties required
Qualifications:
- 2+ years of experience with computer hardware and Unix administration.
- Previous experience monitoring equipment and backup operations.
- Must have proven experience working evenings or nights and be reliable.
- Excellent communication skills, strong follow-through, and attention-to-detail.
- Respond to emergencies and user requests effectively.
- Work autonomously, but also perform well on a team.
