Summary of Position:
As a member of the Systems management group, this position will manage all aspects of the Telecommunications function. The Telecommunications group provides hardware support of telecom, voice mail, and other voice-related systems including analysis, application development, and database administration. Support is end to end, covering the infrastructure from the phone hardware on the desktop to the PBX system that drives the services. In addition, this group provides support of telephony network integration, bill reconciliation, circuit ordering and installation, video conference operation, and trouble ticket management.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee management, monitoring, and performance of all elements of voice networking and equipment; making recommendations where appropriate.
- Ability to technically advise management on projects.
- Partner with vendors on the selection and placement of telecommunications system services, enhancements and upgrades with regard to cost allocation and budgetary impact.
- Oversee joint projects with IT groups and act as a liaison between that group and other studio groups.
- Communicate with management at all levels as necessary to ensure everyone is aware of status of major initiatives.
- Develop methods and procedures to support Telecom support operations.
- Manage and implement telecom disaster recovery plans.
- Other duties as assigned.
- High school Diploma required.
- A Bachelors degree in computer science, telecommunications, or equivalent experience is required.
- Minimum of 4 years voice communications experience.
- Minimum of 2 years management experience with demonstrated success leading a high volume, fast paced organization.
- - Certification or a functional equivalent in Avaya switch technologies. Additional experience with Nortel, Lucent, Siemens, Mitel, or Toshiba also desired.
- Experience in mixed VOIP and digital environments.
- Ability to demonstrate knowledge in networking and operating system fundamentals.
- Excellent organizational and problem solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple, potentially conflicting, priorities and tasks.
- Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills with strong customer service orientation.
- Demonstrated flexibility and success initiating and managing change in a multi-functional team environment.
- Project management skills.
- Extensive use of standard office equipment including keyboard, mouse, fax, etc.
- Must be able to lift and carry at least 30 lbs (equipment) on an occasional basis.
- Limited travel is required.
