Slide's Advertising Product Manager is responsible for management of new online advertising products and services for brand and ROI customers. This Product Manager role is responsible for all aspects of evolving Interactive advertising products and services and is focused on achieving goals around advertiser satisfaction, revenue, and consumer use -focusing primarily on developing Slide's banner ad and innovative widget advertising solutions. As part of a cross-functional team, the Product Manager works collaboratively with Slide's customers, management, engineering and sales personnel, and internal and external providers to achieve the growth objectives of the company and its customers.
Slide is the largest personal media network in the world, reaching more than 117 million people each month, or nearly 14 percent of the global Internet audience. The service helps people express themselves and tell emotionally engaging stories through personalized photos and videos created on Slide.com and viewed anywhere on the web or on their desktop. Slide widgets -- including Slide Shows, Guestbooks, SkinFlix and FunPix -- are viewed by tens of millions of people every day on popular sites like MySpace, Facebook, Bebo, Hi5, Xanga, Tagged and Blogger. Slide launched in 2005 and was founded by PayPal co-founder Max Levchin
Responsibilities include:
- Manage all new advertising product, including reporting and billing requirements
- Work closely with customers to identify market requirements, define product specs and schedule, and drive implementation
- Works with sales to promote, sell, and oversee the implementation new solutions
- Work closely with engineering and design to determine technical and design solutions, prioritize work, and build schedule
- Design functional specifications and make tradeoff decisions between functionality and resources/timeframes
- Ownership of Advertising metrics including product pricing and inventory projections
- Monitor movements of competitors and create appropriate strategies to gain and maintain competitive leadership
- Strong understanding of online advertising landscape and trends
- Must have a passion for the internet and strong understanding of web technologies (how they are implemented/served, and how they fit together)
- Passionate and active web 2.0 user and consumer
- Intuitive sense for product usability and design
- Experience in developing and launching consumer technology products
- Experience working with Doubleclick a strong plus
