Responsibilities:
- Work with the lead programmer and producer to create technical design documents and define your schedule
- Write, document and test code to implement the technical and game design
- Work with design and art teams to write code that implements their creative direction
- Mentor junior programmers as needed
- Review and critique code design and implementation from other programmers
- Contribute to the ongoing evolution of the software development process
- 4 year degree in computer science or equivalent
- 4+ years experience programming games
- Strong C++
- Specialization in a game system a plus (ex. AI, networking, physics, etc.)
- Knowledge of XML and other file formats
- Experience with two or more programming environments
- Experience with all tools typically needed in a game project
- Own your own computer, and have personal projects as a hobbyist
- Be up-to-date with the latest technologies in game development
- Take responsibility for one or more major components
- Schedule, design, implement, document, and debug your code
- Be a resource for and mentor junior programmers
