Summary of Position
The Production Accounting Assistant will work with the Film Finance Lead and will play an integral role in Pixar's Production Finance group. The Production Accounting Assistant will report to the Film Finance Lead on a Feature Film. The individual will be directly involved in the studio¿s core film production business, helping with the financial and operational activities and how films are budgeted and scheduled.
Responsibilities
- Assisting the Production Accountant in the overall accounting, forecasting and scheduling for a feature film and other ancillary projects.
- Preparing periodic cost reports including cost-to-completion estimates, project unit costs and general ledger maintenance.
- Reviewing weekly payroll for the film crew.
- Updating and reviewing weekly departmental progress against the production schedule and productivity assumptions.
- Overseeing film accounts payable, accounts receivable and petty cash.
- Liaising between the Corporate Finance and Production Finance departments.
- Maintaining reports and accounting office databases.
- Preparing ad-hoc film analyses and variance reporting.
- Liaising with the Screen Actors Guild for talent payment and eligibility.
- BA or BS degree or equivalent in accounting, finance or other quantitative discipline.
- Minimum 2 years general accounting experience.
- Experience in a film, animation or entertainment-related field preferred.
- Strong background in MS Excel.
- Flexible nature with the ability to multi-task.
- Excellent verbal, written and organizational skills.
- Passion for the entertainment industry, animation and technology.
