We’re the folks who brought you the DivX codec, then consumer electronics products that support DivX video, and then Stage6 - the video sharing site that lets you download DivX video to play on your TV. Now we’re hiring a Director of Segment Marketing. This position is responsible for developing a strategic analysis of the media and networking landscape of the consumer electronics industry. The ideal candidate has an intimate knowledge of hardware, software and services within the consumer electronics industry and experience delivering industry segment analysis, the IC, ODM, OEM ecosystem for each segment, end-user use case identification and high level business and product recommendations. This is a key position that supports our product management and business planning processes.
The Everyday View
The Director of Segment Marketing will create and execute a global Segment Marketing strategy to drive the DivX brand and new business development. Responsibilities include:
- Daily management of segment marketing team
- Creating and managing the development and maintenance of segment plans
- Developing end-user usage scenarios and solutions
- Engaging and managing external research and analyst firms
- Creating and managing centralized research library
- Supporting product management and business planning
The Kind of Person We're Looking For
We’re looking for a seasoned marketing director with specific consumer electronics industry experience. You must have:
- 15 years of marketing and product marketing leadership experience in consumer electronics
- Ability and experience delivering successful business models
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills
- Excellent organizational and logistical skills
- Familiarity with digital media technology and the passion to become articulate about the DivX brand
- Experience managing budgets and vendor relationships
