Responsibilities:
Headquartered in Singapore, the Asia Pacific Division you will be joining is one of Akamai’s fastest growing regions and responsible for activities in all major Asia-Pacific markets (ex Japan). In Australia and New Zealand Akamai has a roster of impressive customers including Fairfax, News Corp, Qantas, Jetstar, Television New Zealand, Resmed, Tourism Australia and several government agencies and departments among many others.

Requirements:
  • Execute an industry-driven sales plan, generating, and qualifying leads within the Australia and New Zealand markets
  • Work with the assigned Solutions Engineer to articulate, define and scope sales opportunities
  • Provide hand-off for the port-sales professional services team
  • Overseeing the customer proposal process and ensuring that all address customer requirements.
  • Leverage Akamai’s best-in-breed solutions worldwide by actively building relationships with counterparts worldwide, and deploying Akamai’s best-in-breed solutions
  • Supporting and educating Sales, Marketing and other internal departments to ensure that customers get appropriate updates, upgrades and event-oriented solutions
  • Contribute to the public face of Akamai in the Australia and New Zealand market, attending industry functions, and generally promoting Akamai value
Duties:
  • The Major Account Executive will drive sales within the Australia and New Zealand markets through aggressive exploitation of an industry network. You will revel in the challenge of navigating a sales cycle, deploying technical resources and articulating Akamai’s value to a prospect. You must understand business drivers, match those to Akamai’s technology and clearly articulate complex solutions to prospective customers through a mature and sophisticated sales approach.
  • Reporting to the Director of Asia-Pacific, based in Sydney, this Major Account Executive role is distinguished by a high degree of autonomy. You will be responsible for developing a territory-wide sales plan that capitalizes on the centralized Asia-Pacific technical support. You are an ambitious self-starter, keen to be part of a dynamic team, comfortable with high expectations and you are motivated by the opportunity to be responsible for your own success.
  • The specific role will be responsible for selling within the media / entertainment and hi-tech industries. You will be able to confidently discuss WAN and Internet application issues
Qualifications:

Software Engineer - Developer at Akamai Technologies

  • We are seeking new graduates to join our EdgeServer Platform team. In this role, you will be part of a highly skilled and motivated team that develops Akamai's core caching / delegate server technology.
  • You will design new features and applications for the platform, seeing development from conception and design through testing and deployment.
  • You will also implement changes and design regression tests to make permanent solutions to platform problems and implement scalable and robust systems using C/C++. Lastly, you will have minor on-call duties for off-hours problem resolution (normally one week on-call every 2-3 months).
Qualifications:
  • Recent grad or graduating student with a MS or BS in Computer Science
  • Knowledge of both C and C++ with experience of TCP/IP networking, multithreading, and server development.
  • Practical experience with SSL and the OpenSSL API
  • Good knowledge of the HTTP protocol and familiarity with SQL

  • Technical Project Managers are part of the Akamai Professional Services team and work directly with Akamai's clients to deliver Akamai solutions.
  • TPMs lead and manage the integration of customers’ web sites with the Akamai network. They are involved from early in the pre-sales cycle (proposals and trials) through implementation and customer sign-off.
  • TPMs must have a full understanding of development methodologies, consulting best practices, and common web and application architectures.
  • This position requires a strong technical background, excellent client and project management skills, proven ability to do hands on technical work when needed, and ability to lead technical projects and technical teams.
  • Successful candidates must be action oriented, capable of independently solving complex technical problems and able to communicate clearly and effectively to both technical and business audiences.
Responsibilities include:
  • Work independently or lead small technical teams with Akamai enterprise customers to evaluate their web architecture and deliver the appropriate integration solution. This includes, but is not limited to, evaluating the customers’ content management and publishing processes, web application architecture, security requirements, DNS configurations, and provide detailed documentation for a custom solution that satisfies the customers’ business and technical requirements.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in MIS/CS or 4 years of relevant experience in Internet technologies. Master of Science degree in MIS/CS a plus.
  • 5-8 years of IT solution delivery experience within a consulting organization in progressively responsible positions, including experience as a project technical team lead or technical project manager. Proven track record of delivering successful projects for Fortune 500 customers a must.
  • Experience working on and managing enterprise scale J2EE or .NET projects with direct client exposure. At least some J2EE or .NET coding experience a plus.
  • Experience in one or more web development languages, methodologies, and / or architectures. Candidate should be able to teach a class or provide training and mentoring in these technologies.
