Senior Software Q.A. Engineer at Akamai Technologies

Location: US-CA-San Mateo

Responsibilities:

  • Design tools, develop Perl scripts and work with SQL
  • a creative thinker with advanced technical expertise in UNIX / Linux operating systems and HTTP, DNS and TCP/IP technologies as well as proxy servers, web servers and caching technologies
  • Responsible for validation and verification of EdgeSuite and EdgeComputing service offerings to provide robust and scalable e-business infrastructure and cost effectiveness for global customer base at the enterprise level.
  • Implement in-depth understanding of SQA life-cycle from functional requirements gathering to the design and execution of automated, manual and system level tests.
  • Develop creative, competent analyses to identify root causes of technical problems & develop resolutions
  • Perform manual and automated functional tests as well as large-scale system tests create, enhance and maintain automated build and unit/regression test infrastructures
  • Write Perl modules for functional testing; utilize C/C++, Unix shell scripting; utilize knowledge of HTTP, TCP/IP and DNS protocols to perform manual and automated test in a large-scale Internet test network
  • Review bug descriptions, functional requirements, design documents and code, working closely with developers to design test criteria and develop test plans
  • Ensure proper documentation of work; responsible for mentoring and training other team members.

Qualifications:
  • M.Sc. in computer science, computer engineering, electrical engineering or related equivalent degree.
  • No experience required.
