We’re looking for a Release Manager to coordinate releases, communicate schedules and work with stakeholders to ensure timely, high quality releases.
Our video creation and playback technologies power millions of consumer electronics devices, from DVD players to portable media players, mobile phones, digital cameras, home media servers, to name a few. To make it this far in the consumer electronics business, we had to ensure seamless interoperability of DivX content and devices across different platforms and competing brand names, including Panasonic, Sony, LG, Roxio, Pinnacle and CyberLink and others. This requires insight, quality, precision and coordination fit for a ballet.
THE EVERYDAY VIEW
- Work with teams to define Release Management processes
- Propose plans to update/streamline existing Release Management processes to efficiently manage the release of code
- Manage the deployment of the deliverables and ensure that external dependent items are also available at test runtime
- Work with Configuration Management and Engineering teams to capture and publish a central release calendar containing all known migration dates
- Setup and verify quality-gate for pre-migration as well as post-migration to include checklists and approvals
- Ensure requirements from other products (internal and external) that impact current product are included the product release requirements list
- Collect and report release metrics and assist in the process of migration issue remediation
- Generate and/or validate Release Notes
- Validate the release is operating as expected

- Strong management skills with ability to effectively direct the company's release management operations
- Demonstrate previous experience with the Software Development Life Cycle, Quality Assurance and Software Configuration Management disciplines
- Experience with engineering best practices and the ability to improve and document process
- Willingness to work at all levels of the release team
- Ideal candidate will be well acquainted with the Agile Development process and associated build and release tools and/or methodologies
