Senior Software Engineer

The LinkedIn engineering team is seeking world-class engineers to build the corporate version of the LinkedIn system, a key component of the LinkedIn growth strategy.

Experience

• At least 3 years of relevant experience in a Software Engineer, Senior Software Engineer, or equivalent position.
• Experience working in a fast paced, startup environment a plus.
• Experience with payment systems, job boards and job management systems, or any web-based revenue driven feature a plus.
• Experience with developing Web2.0, collaborative, 'user generated content' features a plus.
• Experience with Groovy and the Grails framework a plus.

Skills and abilities

• In depth and hands on knowledge of Java, the J2EE platform and experience working with relevant tools (IDEs, ant, junit, etc.).
• Solid understanding of design, coding and testing patterns.
• Ability to work in a fast paced, test-driven collaborative and iterative programming environment.
• Strong understanding of the server side software, scalability, performance and reliability aspects.
• Strong team player.
• Ability to provide guidance, leadership and mentoring to peers and less experienced team members.
• Ability to pro-actively collaborate with business and product people, and to design and discuss technical solutions for the implementation of business requirements.

Education
BS/MS in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
