Senior Software Engineer

The LinkedIn engineering team is seeking world-class engineers to build the corporate version of the LinkedIn system, a key component of the LinkedIn growth strategy.

Experience
  • At least 3 years of relevant experience in a Software Engineer, Senior Software Engineer, or equivalent position.
  • Experience working in a fast paced, startup environment a plus.
  • Experience with payment systems, job boards and job management systems, or any web-based revenue driven feature a plus.
  • Experience with developing Web2.0, collaborative, 'user generated content' features a plus.
  • Experience with Groovy and the Grails framework a plus.


Skills and abilities
  • In depth and hands on knowledge of Java, the J2EE platform and experience working with relevant tools (IDEs, ant, junit, etc.).

Software Engineer

LinkedIn is seeking a highly motivated individual for a new team responsible for integrations between LinkedIn and consumer and business web partners. You’ll work with the latest technologies including RoR, Java, and REST. This role will provide a unique opportunity to work with other teams in Engineering, corporate customers, and trusted partners to develop new features and tools integrating with LinkedIn.

Responsibilities include:
  • Develop RESTful APIs using Java
  • Help design developer toolkits in other languages
  • Write detailed documentation for users of these services

Requirements:

Whitebox Java Developer

We are looking for a Java Developer who is passionate about quality with excellent test automation experience. You will also design, develop, implement and maintain automation tools requiring close relationships with other product developers and QA to enhance automation test coverage.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop and maintain the JUnit test suite
  • Continuously improve the efficiency and efficacy of our automatic test suite
  • White box testing our entire software stack, using private as well as public APIs
  • Design and perform performance and load test for web application
  • Analyze failures and report in the Bug tracking system
  • Harvest or create test data sets

Required Skills:
  • Experience with building extensive tests with Junit (3 or 4)
  • Experience with building test automation suite for web services
  • Experience testing API, specifically REST APIs
  • Working knowledge of debugging and root cause analysis, from the web layer to the DB layer
  • Experience with J2EE architectures
  • Experience with Unix, Solaris preferred
  • Experience with one of more scripting languages: Shell, Perl, Python, Ruby
  • Experience with QA and testing methodologies
  • Experience testing complex distributed systems
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Desired Skills:
  • Hands on experience with Ruby on Rails
  • Experience with httpunit, htmlunit or similar tools
