Join our rock star team! CNET is looking for an associate product marketing manager to join our growing team. The Associate Product Marketing Manager assists in developing revenue-generating programs on CNET.com and its emerging platforms like blogs, mobile applications, and online video. Support sales efforts for major brand advertisers in the auto, finance, telecom, retail and other industries. Interface with virtual teams to implement new programs, develop pricing, packaging and sales materials and optimize inventory and sell-through. You will be expected work directly with sales as well as other marketing team members to respond to the needs of our clients and prospects with marketing materials, product knowledge and project management.
2 years of online marketing, advertising, or account/project management experience. Advertising agency or online publishing experience a plus.
- Project management skills. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Excellent communication skills – verbal and written. Communicates effectively, understanding the nuances of his/her audience.
- Exhibit a basic understanding of online marketing including CPM and exclusive opportunities, creative assets, ad serving and publishing
- Demonstrates passion for sales process and understands Product Marketing role within it
- Client-service focused, flexible and able to work in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications with emphasis on PPT and Excel
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent training and experience required.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project management – interface with sales, product marketing and product managers working to implement and utilize existing and new sellable opportunities
- Develop understanding of CNET product/editorial infrastructure capabilities and leverage them for revenue optimization
- Develop sales-related tools and presentations including sales collateral such as 1-sheets, PPT slides, sales guides, etc
- Serve as a product expert; actively participating in the communication of product features and benefits to internal and external audiences.
- Positive attitude that remains consistent despite challenging situations.
- Strong interpersonal skills. Ability to generate credibility, trust and respect throughout the company.
- A hands-on participant with a strong work ethic. Prepared to go “above and beyond.”
- Demonstrates passion in his/her work, and for the online medium.
