Siebel Technical Project Manager at Volt Sevices

Description:
Our client company is undertaking a large scale initiative to re-implement Siebel 8.x (from an earlier 7.5.3 version) to improve application response time, improve the offering-to-order process, improve the maintenance associated with the environment and make it easier for the company to scale.

Essential Functions:
  • Develop the comprehensive business test plan for the Siebel re-implementation initiative (V8). The plan should be reviewed and accepted by the PMO and communicated/presented to the extended core project team and/or testers
  • Manage, implement and maintain an effective comprehensive business testing process in support of the V8 schedule.
  • Develop a general understanding of the companies business processes inherent within the scope of the V8
  • Actively participate in and/or lead efforts to develop the business test scripts for quality assurance, user acceptance (UAT) and partner integration testing. Ensure test scripts themselves are reviewed, revised and signed off well in advance of testing.
  • Develop a comprehensive metrics tracking and reporting process that clearly depicts the daily status of testing
  • Develop relationships with key core team members and subject matter experts (SME) responsible for the testing
  • Be able to adapt and adjust to uncontrollable events that will most likely surface throughout the project (e.g., unplanned IT system downtime) without compromising the scheduled completion date
  • Ability to hold people accountable for their committed test plans while maintaining a positive working relationship
  • Enforce the adherence to the companies quality processes and procedures.
  • Monitor, review and adjust test plans and/or test cases as appropriate.
  • Attend weekly and/or periodic core team meeting of projects and provide inputs from the Testers' perspective.
  • Immediate notification/escalation of problems to business program manager
Requirements:
  • 7+ years of experience of project and or test management
  • 5+ experience managing and/or optimizing the sales process
  • Strong verbal and written communications skills.
  • The ability to listen effectively is highly valued
  • Successful experience in field-facing or customer-facing roles in support of sales teams is highly valued • Proficient with quality assurance and user acceptance testing of process/system changes
  • Experienced with developing metrics and executive status reporting.
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Strong customer service skills with a passion for prompt response and resolution
  • Strong experience providing reporting and analyzing data with high technology manufacturing companies preferably storage companies.
  • Experience leading a cross-functional, matrix-ed organization Pluses
  • A strong working knowledge of Siebel sales, Siebel PRM and/or Siebel eChannel is a plus (2-3 years Siebel experience preferred).
  • Background as project manager/lead, business analyst and/or IT developer
  • Knowledge of distribution channel business model(s)
  • Industry experience in High Tech Industries
  • Experience with B2B, preferably RosettaNet The Test Manager is responsible for providing management oversight for the comprehensive end-to-end quality assurance, user acceptance, and partner integration test for the global Seibel re-implementation. This individual will report into the business program manager and be responsible for working closely with the IT organization and business groups and requisite third parties to coordinate planning and testing efforts.
