Mobile Business Analyst / Product Manager at MLB

Job description and core competencies:
  • Product planning – coordinates development of product, feature, and infrastructure roadmap
  • Market sizing and competitive analysis
  • Building detailed usage & revenue forecasts for internal, partner, & carrier use based on past performance data and industry benchmarks
  • Analyzing, quantitatively and qualitatively, business trade-offs involved in product design & functionality decisions
  • Analyzing distribution decisions and product design impact, such as handset support, carrier support, etc.
  • Crafting internal and partner communications – road shows, reports, etc.
  • Leading product and brand marketing initiatives, including targeting, collaboration on creative, messaging, and tracking
  • Requirements development – collaborating with the Developers and Product Manager to articulate functional and performance requirements and act as the customer and partner advocate on development projects
  • Process design – involved in developing processes around customer support, workflow with partners and creative contributors
  • Work closely with editorial to determine programming and content inventories across
Ideal candidate has:
  • Subject-matter knowledge of Baseball and the Sports vertical in general
  • Experience creating business cases for developing & deploying premium and free-to-consumer mobile and/or Web applications
  • Demonstrated ability to quickly evaluate rapidly emerging technologies and think three steps ahead of the market, seeing through the Fads to the sustainable businesses
  • Knowledge of digital subscription, advertising and sponsorship business models
  • Knowledge of Web, mobile, broadcast, and print media
  • Quant-focused executive decision support experience in a strategy/consulting environment
  • Corporate finance experience/knowledge
  • Ability to quickly understand and navigate a complex ecosystem of partners, competitors, rightsholders, labor issues, etc.
  • Will and ability to roll up sleeves and apply direct effort to resolving complex business and technology issues
  • "Start-up" mentality
