Game Programmer (S.E. II or III) at Slipgate Ironworks

Location: Slipgate Ironworks

Responsibilities:
  • Work with the lead programmer and producer to create technical design documents and define your schedule
  • Write, document and test code to implement the technical and game design
  • Work with design and art teams to write code that implements their creative direction
  • Mentor junior programmers as needed
  • Review and critique code design and implementation from other programmers
  • Contribute to the ongoing evolution of the software development process
Qualifications:
  • 4 year degree in computer science or equivalent
  • 4+ years experience programming games
  • Strong C++
  • Specialization in a game system a plus (ex. AI, networking, physics, etc.)
  • Knowledge of XML and other file formats
  • Experience with two or more programming environments
  • Experience with all tools typically needed in a game project
  • Own your own computer, and have personal projects as a hobbyist
  • Be up-to-date with the latest technologies in game development
  • Take responsibility for one or more major components
  • Schedule, design, implement, document, and debug your code
  • Be a resource for and mentor junior programmers
