Yahoo! Senior User Experience Researcher

Yahoo! Inc. is seeking an experienced and innovative Senior User Experience Researcher to join our ''front doors team'', working on Yahoo! Front Page and My Yahoo!. In this role you will plan and execute research to inform and support business, product, and design decisions at all levels. You will work as part of the Customer Insights team reporting to the Director of Customer Insights for ''Front Doors''.

Responsibilities Include:
  • Plan, execute, and report a variety of research projects leveraging both qualitative and quantitative research methods.
  • Foster collaboration with designers and product managers to convert customer insights into actionable strategic and tactical recommendations that inform product strategy and design.
  • Advocate for the end user by building consensus with designers and stakeholders to ensure that design and business goals are balanced with user needs.
  • Understand and advocate how the customer experience influences brand perceptions and key business drivers.

Minimum Job Qualifications:
  • Demonstrated success translating user experience research results into actionable recommendations that have a significant impact on product strategy and design.
  • Demonstrated success at planning and executing user experience research and translating results into actionable recommendations.
  • Proven ability to match analytical skills with business acumen.
  • Very strong communication skills. Must be able to communicate clearly and effectively to varying audiences, verbally and in writing, in small and large forums, and at all levels of an organization. Furthermore, must have very strong visual communication skills.
  • Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD degree in Anthropology, Cognitive or Experimental Psychology, Cognitive Science, Human Factors, Human-Computer Interaction, or related area.
  • A good understanding of several Internet product domains and market environments.
  • Experience with Keynote Webeffective or similar tools a plus.
  • Experience with working with metrics and log data a plus.
