Interactive Designer and Developer Internships at IQ Foundry

We currently have 1 interactive designer and 1 interactive developer internship available for the 2006-2007 school year.

These positions are open immediately. You will work on challenging and exciting projects on a regular basis.

We're looking for fresh, talented, responsible and dedicated interactive students to work on upcoming projects. Must live in or near Madison, WI.

Our interactive internship positions are unpaid and require a working understanding of website development within your area of focus--development or design. Projects include websites, interactive games and online campaigns and new business pitch projects for clients in a variety of industries. Must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to positively contribute to a team environment.

A few must haves for designers:
  • Excellent skills in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop and Indesign
  • Excellent skills in Flash, Adobe GoLive and/or Dreamweaver and other web authoring/motion graphic tools
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills
  • Thrives within a collaborative design studio environment

A brief list of responsibilities:
  • Design projects based on direction provided by the lead designer or principle, as well as contributing to or leading the direction of a project.
  • Assist team in developing layouts, illustrations, or visual elements.
  • Based on original concept, flush out additional elements within scope of project.
  • Revise original designs with client or internal changes while maintaining design integrity.
  • Other duties as assigned.

A few must haves for developers:
  • Excellent skills with class-based development in PHP and MySQL.
  • Ability to work with multiple developers on a single project
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills
  • Thrives within a collaborative design studio environment

A brief list of responsibilities:
  • Develop projects based on project specifications, as well as contributing to or developing the specifications for a project.
  • Assist team in developing sites and required application components.
  • Based on project specifications, flesh out and develop application concepts.
  • Work with established code to add enhancements or make modifications.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Other things you should know:
  • Must be available to work on site a minimum of 20 hours a week.
  • These internships are full hands-on work.
  • We make our own coffee.
