New Media Inside Sales Representative at Yahoo

How Big Can You Think?

The ideal candidate has a proven track record in online and/or traditional media sales. We're looking for an energetic self-starter with a consultative sales approach who is pro-active in driving revenue and increasing a client base. Candidate must be results-driven, have strong analytical skills and be committed to creating new business opportunities. This Media Sales Professional is expected to understand the overall business objectives of the Yahoo! sales organization, and then articulate the Yahoo! value proposition to the advertising community.

Responsibilities:
  • Proactively prospect, qualify, grow, and maintain an account list of medium to large size advertisers.
  • Successfully obtain branded marketing dollars from clients in excess of $200,000 annually. Manage and grow an account base exceeding $4 million dollars in annualized recognized revenue.
  • Engage and strategize with senior level executives at client companies to demonstrate how Yahoo! can meet their marketing objectives through cross-network online marketing solutions such as integrated sponsorships and graphical media
  • Develop and cultivate deep relationships at all levels from CEO/CMO to Brand Managers to Media Buyers
  • Identify and understand trends within client markets and industries
  • Hit target revenue quota (quarterly)
  • Pitch new business to advertising agencies and direct clients
  • Proactively provide smart client research and industry specific information
  • Update and create sales proposals.
  • Navigate internally with various business units to create compelling media solutions for advertisers.
Qualifications:
  • 3+ years of Overall Sales experience
  • 2+ years of Media Sales experience preferred
  • Experience in online advertising sales, media buying, brand management, promotions and sponsorships is highly desirable
  • Proven track record of success driving revenue through the development of long-term strategic relationships
  • Demonstrated track record of structuring and managing complex negotiations to successful closure and delivery (at a 6-figure level)
  • Strong understanding of marketing dynamics including demographic and psychographic targeting and brand positioning
  • Understand how technology works and the ability to explain in ordinary terms
  • Ability to work and contribute in a large team environment
  • BA/BS required (Marketing/Advertising preferred)
