Cmed Technology develops technical solutions for the pharmaceutical industry. Most notably, our flagship product "Timaeus" targets the area of clinical trials, and radically challenges many industry pre-conceptions. Cmed Technology works closely with the operational side of the business (Cmed CRS), but falls under the Cmed Group umbrella.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities

Application configuration activities
  • Proactively monitoring, upgrading, modifying and improving Cmed applications, including but not limited to the following:
  • the Intranet and Twiki
  • Ticketing/bug tracking/helpdesk systems.
  • Cmed news
  • Instant messaging
  • The Cmed Management Information System (MIS).
  • Electronic calendar and organisation tools.
  • Act as a Subject Matter Expert for the definition and specification of new applications.
  • Configure, test, validate, release and hand over new applications as required.
  • Define, configure and implement applications for external customers, e.g. Helpdesks
  • Provide consultation services as required for external and internal customer’s queries regarding applications.
  • There will also be an element of desktop support, as and when required.
Candidate Profile

An application programming background is desirable, and candidates who show the following qualities will be given priority:
  • Highly organised
  • Able to prioritise multiple tasks
  • Good communication skills.
  • Flexible and adaptable.
  • Meticulous approach to quality.

Technically, the right candidate will be have some or all of the following skills:
  • Linux (Preferably Debian/Ubuntu distribution) at command line and scripting level
  • Python scripting
  • PHP scripting
  • Application configuration of complex software packages.
  • Javascript
  • HTML
  • MYSQL
  • Microsoft Access
  • Microsoft Navision experience would be very valuable.
  • SAS administration and configuration experience would be very valuable
There will occasionally be a requirement to provide IT and desktop support. For this, experience in the following skills would be advantageous:-
  • Windows and Linux systems administration
  • Desktop/IT support.
  • Hardware and software installation and troubleshooting
  • Management of user email accounts
  • Firewall and networking
  • Asset management
  • Windows Active directory and remote software delivery.
