How Big Can You Think?

The Marketing Development Manager is a creative brand marketing expert who partners with Yahoo! advertisers', the Yahoo! field sales force, Yahoo! property owners and the design team to leverage the full breadth and scale of Yahoo! content, properties, research and technologies in the service of advertisers' marketing objectives. Aligned geographically and by specific category and/or our top clients, this expert will apply creative innovation in line with the needs of advertisers, to create compelling solutions and drive advertising revenue.

Responsibilities:

  • Create strategic advertising solutions by integrating cross network advertising & sponsorships, market research, and data targeted advertising & analytics into a comprehensive ''story'' and customer centric advertising solution
  • Provide thought leadership about the evolution of advertising, emerging trends, technologies, entertainment and media, especially with regard to the online space
  • Understand, create, and package network offerings and opportunities that are customizable and scalable on the Yahoo! network
  • Strategically assess the competitive landscape and prioritize revenue opportunities
  • Build internal relationships to facilitate cross disciplinary collaboration with key Yahoo! constituents, including sales and the creative team
  • Lead creative ideation and brainstorming sessions with clients to create strategies and apply them to the Y! network in order to reach their marketing objectives
  • Partner with Yahoo!'s field sales force, guiding the development of specific ideas and assisting in the development of key customer pitches, upfront meetings and strategy sessions
  • Lead the definition and development of big ideas for creatively driven pitches and presentations, including ideation, development and execution of pitch materials
  • Guide the development of creative online marketing programs that combine a strong understanding of marketer needs with an insightful understanding of existing and potential solutions available from Yahoo! and its network of properties
Basic Requirements:

  • Strong experience in and understanding of digital media and consumer behavior
  • Passion for the changing media landscape, self educated on the trends in consumer behaviors and inventive ways to reach a targeted audience
  • History of creating innovative concepts that have positively impacted revenue
  • A proven collaborator and relationship builder with experience leading executive level engagements
Preferred Requirements:
  • A minimum of 7 years combined brand marketing, media strategy, sales development and design or advertising agency experience (ideally in media or brand strategy)
  • 4 + years in the advertising space with a track record of creating compelling marketing solutions, online highly preferred
  • Passion for branding and marketing, outspoken advocate for client's brands
  • Ability to think strategically, understanding marketer needs and creatively translating these needs into compelling concepts and programs
  • Excellent oral and written communication, negotiation and presentation skills
  • Experience working in a fast paced, matrixed organization a plus
  • BA/BS, MBA a plus
