Primary Job Responsibilities
eBay is seeking talented recent college graduates to join our Quality Assurance Rotation Team
As a QA Engineer, you will play a key role in the testing of complex, multi-tiered distributed software applications. You will collaborate with other QA Engineers, Project Managers, Software Developers, Database Administrators (DBAs), and Operations staff to:

  • Analyze product requirements, create test plans, and identify deliverables.
  • Execute testing tasks and report status, escalating issues as appropriate.
  • Pro actively solve problems and suggest process improvements.
  • Identify project risks and recommend actions to minimize risk.

As a member of the QA Rotation Team, you will work in all the major QA functions at eBay. You will gain a broad exposure to eBay and a strong base of experience in providing quality assurance for one of the world''s largest and most sophisticated websites.

Job Requirements
MS Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, Information Systems, Natural Sciences, Physical Sciences, or related field. AND 1+ years related experience.
or
BS Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, Information Systems, Natural Sciences, Physical Sciences, or related field. AND 2+ years related experience.

Plus
  • Knowledge/understanding of browsers and web applications
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential.
  • Demonstrated willingness and ability to learn quickly.
  • You must be adept at working both as an individual and in groups in a dynamic, multi-tasking environment with rapid development life cycles.
  • Plus require 6 or more of the following:
  • Programming in Java
  • Programming in C++
  • Experience with PERL scripting.
  • Familiarity with relational databases (Oracle preferred) and SQL
  • XML knowledge.
  • Skills with HTML, JavaScript , CSS, or XSL
  • Basic Windows or UNIX system administration skills.
  • Work or educational experience in reviewing product requirements, reviewing designs, and creating test plans.
  • Proficiency in testing Web applications with comprehensive knowledge of browsers.
  • Manually feature testing of scalable, distributed, fault-tolerant applications.
  • Web security testing experience and experience with security protocols.
  • Knowledge of QA testing techniques to determine appropriate number of test iterations and apply risk-based testing concepts.
  • Project experience with IBM WebSphere, Tomcat, or other J2EE application servers.

Education
Masters Degree or Equivalent
