Design Automation and Cad Engineering at Intel

Country:United States

Design automation engineers develop new design techniques and improve the performance of Intel's next-generation platforms. They accomplish this by assessing new architecture and approaches in CAD software engineering, and by specifying new materials, equipment, and supplies. CAD engineers perform circuit simulation, performance verification, resistance-capacitance (RC) extraction, design database management, design rule checking (DRC), LVS using a variety of tools.

Responsibilities:
  • Design, develop, maintain, and provide user support of CAD tools.
  • Assist with schematic entry and analysis in the integrated circuit design process.
  • Design, specify, install, and support computer-controlled automatic test systems.
  • Maintain cost reduction and quality improvement initiatives.

Requirements:
  • Typical degrees include BS, MS, or PhD in electrical engineering, electrical and computing engineering, or computer science.
  • Strong background in logic design.
  • Working experience in synthesis, Formal Verification (FV), Design for Test (DFT), Static Timing Analysis (STA), Auto Place and Route (APR), and Physical Verification.
  • Working knowledge of UNIX, Windows, and Perl.
  • Working knowledge of VHDL and/or Verilog.
  • Working knowledge of C/C++, Tool Control Language (TCL), or Tool Kit (TK).
