Real Estate & Workplace Manager, Lease Administration and Documentation

The REW manager for lease administration and documentation is responsible for all aspects of Lease Administration and related documents for Yahoo’s global leased real estate portfolio. This position reports directly to the REW Director of Shared Services.


Responsibilities include:
  • Manage the Lease Administration function for both domestic and international leases under an outsourced model
  • Manage lease related documentation flow and files
  • Provide one-point-of-contact for Yahoo’s landlords and tenants on lease and property management issues
  • Drive the selection, implementation and on-going utilization of a new software application for Lease Administration
  • Insure accurate payment of base rents and common area charges (CAMs)
  • Drive lease audits and annual CAM reconciliations
  • Assist Project Managers and Site Services/ Facilities providers in the interpretation of lease rights and obligations
  • Insure collection of TI landlord’s allowances in accordance with the lease
  • Assist in the creation and maintenance of permanent records for construction projects
  • Prepare annual budgets and cost projections for lease costs and in-coming rents
  • Prepare and distribute internally reports capturing lease obligations and projections of related costs
Experience and qualifications:
  • Minimum of 10+ years experience in Lease administration in a global portfolio
  • Proven track records as a leader of a lease administration function
  • Ability to read and interpret leases accurately
  • Thorough understanding of the “life cycle” of a lease and it’s impact on PM and Facilities
  • Ability to organize a rational record-keeping system
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Analytical thinking and ability to prepare reports
  • Strong interpersonal skills; ability to liaison with multiple internal and external clients
  • Ability to establish partnerships with internal customers
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
