Operations Manager at StumbleUpon

StumbleUpon is looking for an experienced Operations Manager to coordinate administration, maintenance and upgrades to our infrastructure. This position would include the following responsibilities:

• Coordinate a team of system administrators and operations engineers
• Develop infrastructure standards for a high-availability LAMP architecture
• Hands-on implementation of a fully redundant, fault-tolerate network architecture spanning multiple sites
• Complete a datacenter migration process with minimal downtime, adding a second redundant location
• Make hardware purchase recommendations based on system load and projected growth
• Manage vendor negotiations and contracts as required

Requirements:

• BS or MSc in Computer Science or equivalent
• 5+ years experience in Linux/UNIX system administration and project management
• 3+ years programming/scripting experience in production environments
• Extensive knowledge of IT Operations, including power, space and capacity planning
• Strong understanding of networking principles and implementation
• Ability to develop and maintain technical operations documents
• Proven ability to work with both engineers and executives
