Sr Dir, Global IT Services at Ebay

Primary Job Responsibilities

General:
  • Manage staff of ~180 IT employees, contract resources and outsource partners worldwide.
  • Partnership with Business Units on M&A integration efforts for 3-4 major acquisitions per year
  • Experience with vendor negotiations, budget management, and operational system management
  • Ensure that operational systems are available 24x7 and that processes are continually improved
  • Participate in technical duty officer on-call rotation
  • Scheduled travel required teBay and PayPal locations in North America, EU, and Asia

Corporate Infrastructure
  • Responsible for high volume messaging environment that includes Microsoft Exchange and multi-tier routing and protection layers for corporate email, eBay and PayPal customer service emails and inbound product emails.
  • Overall responsibility for capacity planning and availability of corporate systems, networks and data center operations.
  • Lead the IT disaster recovery planning process and play a key role in Corporate Crisis Management.

Technical Support and Employee Productivity
  • Champion the right technologies that will enable eBay tscale efficiently and attain world class productivity levels and generate industry leading profit per employee.
  • Manage client-side deployment and support of desktops, PDAs, telecom services, and WiFi devices
  • Oversee a Global Service Desk that supports a workforce of 15,000 employees
  • Develop a global client-side technology strategy and an investment roadmap of initiatives timprove employee productivity and overall satisfaction
  • Plan and budget for a technology refresh cycle that enables maximum productivity for Developers, UED Engineers, Customer Service Reps, and Knowledge Workers
  • Define global IT hardware and software standards

Job Requirements
  • BS/BA; computer science discipline preferred
  • 10-15+ years of relevant work experience in IT in both small- and large-scale global organizations
  • Manage and mentor remote teams and global service organizations
  • Inspire and motivate the next generation of IT leaders
  • Thought leader in the application of personal productivity and group collaboration technologies.
  • Experience interacting with C-Level executives and leading IT Executive Support Services
  • Experience with technology solutions to manage and deploy standard desktop images and global virus/patch management
  • 8+ years in Sr. Management role preferred
  • Previous experience in an Operations or Information Technology role is required
  • Proven ability to think strategically and execute, manage and implement large-scale projects
  • Champion the right
  • Proven ability to negotiate agreements and manage external relationships
  • Strong technical communicator – both written and oral
