The role: Advertising Operations Manager, YouTube
The Advertising Operations Manager is in charge of Google's online advertising and brand operations team. One of your first challenges is to hire, train, and lead a team of media coordinators. You’ll take a lead role in working with peers and management to develop and improve best practices for client interaction, sales, and services for Google's revenue generating products. You’ll support a diverse group of sales professionals and provide quantitative analysis and industry research to support strategy development. You have extensive experience in developing policies and requirements for advertisements and can ensure compliancy across all advertisers.
Responsibilities:
- Hire a team of Media Coordinators to manage all aspects of online advertising campaigns.
- Increase effectiveness of staff and tools by recognizing opportunities for development and recommending new systems and structures.
- Develop metrics to measure growth and performance of the department, and provide reports as needed.
- Create sales documentation (regulatory, sales programs, rate sheet, ad specifications, case studies, references etc.).
- Develop regulations and identify best practices (Front Page Policy, Creative Policy, floor CPMs, Booking guidelines).
- Audit signed Insertion orders, revisions and make-goods to ensure SOX compliance.
- Work with Legal and Compliance to streamline Ad Operations processes.
- Participate in developing technical training documents (3rd party tags, Rich Media QA, JavaScript, Adserver basics, etc.).
- Provide analytical training (troubleshooting delivery issues, inventory management, understanding delivery priorities, optimization of campaigns, etc.) to Sales and Sales Operations.
- Work with product and Ad Strategy team to refine new programs and provide expertise input regarding ads placements. Create documents to relay technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
- Manage conversion of Brand channels, Directors accounts and Branded contests.
- Maintain relationship/guidelines with all 3rd party vendors including Pointroll, Eyewonder, Eyeblaster, etc.
- Work with Business Development and Legal to establish terms with vendors and re-negotiate pricing as volume increases.
- Review invoices, verify delivery, resolved discrepancies, and authorized all Rich Media billing.
- Provide ad systems and sales programs support to International, Business development and US sales.
- Work with engineering to develop and implement internal ad serving tools.
Requirements:
- BA/BS required.
- Proven track record of success including hands-on experience in online campaign management.
- 3-4 Years of direct management experience in an Advertising Operations organization.
- Ability to work in a dynamic, evolving, team environment.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Knowledge of 3rd party advertising tags (Mediaplex, Atlas, and Doubleclick).
- Knowledge of Rich media technology and experience working with Rich media vendors (Motif, Eyewonder, Pointroll, Eyeblaster).
