Senior Developer for WYSIWYG Visual Editor (Enterprise Ajax) at Backbase

Job description:

Backbase - leader in the market for Ajax technology - is looking for a senior software engineer to play a large role in delivering a WYSIWYG Visual Editor for Ajax/Java web development.

The right candidate will be an expert in developing modern IDEs in the J2EE world, will be user-centric and have a passion for User Interaction. Backbase offers a great opportunity to use your talents to design and implement a state-of-the-art visual composer within the Eclipse environment. The project will be closely tied to other Ajax products included in Backbase’s products portfolio such as the Backbase JSF Ajax Edition, Backbase Struts Ajax Edition and Backbase Client Ajax Edition.

Responsibilities:
  • Contribute in designing modules of the IDE
  • Communicate with the Technical Leads of the Backbase products
  • Hands on development
  • Scope and help define deliverables
  • Produce design documentation
  • Safe-guard the quality of the deliverable
Requirements:
  • 2+ years developing plug-ins for modern IDEs, preferably Eclipse
  • 2+ years development experience with J2EE and Java
  • 1+ years development experience in DHTML (XHTML, CSS, JavaScript)
  • Solid understanding of J2EE presentation layer components such as JSF, JSP, Struts, Velocity, or Cocoon
  • Solid understanding of modern product development processes (preferably agile development)
