Media Researcher at Facebook

Facebook is looking for a seasoned Media Research professional to join our Trade Marketing team. Primary responsibilities are to provide day to day insights and storylines to directly support Sales’ revenue goals. This position will report to Sr. Trade Marketing Manager in our downtown Palo Alto office.

Location: Palo Alto, CA

Responsibilities:
  • Develop vertical insights for sales’ top client categories to support USP (audience profiles, purchase behavior, new trends, etc.)
  • Feed Trade Marketing lead data to quantify key messages and support major thought leader programs – and help build storylines with relevant data language
  • Update Sales’ monthly audience profile collateral and alert internal teams of monthly trends/changes
  • Educate Sales Planners/Account Management on how advertisers use third party media research sources and keep them abreast of major changes and training opportunities
  • Create Facts & Figures quarterly report for clients around key themes to support revenue (e.g. Shopping trends of 18-24 for holiday advertisers)
  • Develop insight “gems” for trade keynotes and priority sales verticals
  • Collaborate with internal data team to understand changes in site/audience performance and engagement to ensure Sales presentations are accurate
  • Partner with internal data team on discussions with 3rd party companies to increase relevant measurement of our site and audience
Requirements:
  • 6-8 years relevant experience, advertising/marketing/sales/internet preferred
  • BA/BA degree with focus in marketing and/or analytics
  • Expert knowledge of how ad agencies and marketers use different research sources and the ever changing strengths and weaknesses of each source
  • Knowledge of top evaluation metrics in marketing and how internet companies may track those metrics with different names
  • Proven success supporting advertising sales with insights that led to revenue
  • Passion for cobbling data points into persuasive and compelling storylines and presentations
  • Heavy interest in emerging trends within social media and viral marketing
  • Prior experience diving deep in industry marketing – CPG, Retail, Entertainment ideal
