Operations Software Engineer at Facebook

Facebook is seeking an experienced Software Engineer to join the Operations team. The position is full-time and is based in our main office in Downtown Palo Alto, CA. The Software Engineer will report to the Director of Operations.

Responsibilities:

• Design core, back end software components
• Maintain and extend release and deploy tools
• Analyze and improve efficiency, scalability, and stability of website and supporting systems

Requirements:

• BS in Computer Science or related field preferred
• Solid design and development experience
• Scripting languages (perl, php, shell)
• C/C++ and Java development on *nix preferred
• Extensive experience building large-scale server applications
• Experience with operating system internals, filesystems, distributed systems, or server architectures
