General Functions
Digg is looking for a multi-skilled designer to join our crew in San Francisco. We're hoping to find someone who can work with our Lead Designer on all of our design projects, big and small.

Responsibilities

• Obviously, you'll be working a lot on our main site, but we'll also be looking for design work on periodic print projects, side sites, partner programs, and all the other little bits of work that crop up.
• Because we've got a tiny design group here, you'll be working on everything from the planning stages, to initial concepts, to css/xhtml implementation, to working with the developers to integrate your work. You'll be brainstorming ideas and helping shape the ideas others introduce. You've got to really get off on creating intuitive interfaces that solve complex issues. You'll need to be able to see the whole user experience when designing the UI. You'll also need to be able to follow a defined visual style while helping us shape that style over the long term.

Qualifications

• A strong portfolio of work that we can see would be an enormous asset for applicants. An accompanying description of your portfolio, describing its strengths and even its weaknesses, would be even better.
• Very accomplished css and xhtml skills are required.
• Experience with subversion, php, and javascript would be great.

Maintenance Manager/CSS/PHP Web Developer at Image X Media

Summary:

• Image X Media is looking for a talented web developer with exceptional customer service skills.
• The position requires someone with experience in developing sites with PHP/MySQL and
• HTML/CSS (table-less layouts).
• The position requires excellent programming skills, problem solving abilities, a strong work ethic and an eye for design.
• Reporting to the Project Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for managing multiple maintenance contracts for client sites and for building out sites on the Drupal content management system.
• (Drupal training will be provided if you don’t have previous experience with this CMS)

Responsibilities

• Working with a team (designers, creative director, project manager, and other developers) to manage our different clients’ website maintenance needs.
• Responsible for providing training for client on how to update their site.
• Testing, maintenance, and troubleshooting of existing client sites.
• Responsible for planning & fixing internal network from time to time (internet, phone, etc.)
  

Requirements:

• Excellence in customer service
• Independence, willingness to learn and problem solving skills are a must.
• At least two years of related work experience/education.
• Must be able to handle a fast paced work environment, deadlines, and new challenges.
• Ability to communicate and work well with others.
• Good leadership abilities with strengths in training and delegating

Technical Skills:

• Proficient with handcoding HTML and tableless CSS.
• Advanced knowledge and implementation of W3C Web Standards
• Dynamic/Database Driven Development (PHP/MySQL).
• JavaScript; experience with AJAX or jQuery is an asset.
• Experience with the Drupal content management system is asset.
• Adobe Flash/Action Scripting is an asset.
• Apache server configuration and tuning is an asset
• ASP is an asset.

Compensation:

• $50,000 base salary (for experienced developer) plus full benefits and profit sharing incentives.
• Position is only available for onsite work at our South Surrey studio.

Drupal developer at Image X Media

Location: Canada

Summary:

• Image X Media is looking for a talented web developer with considerable experience working as a Drupal developer/programmer.
• The position requires exceptional programming skills, problem solving abilities and a strong work ethic.
• Reporting to the Project Manager the successful candidate will be responsible for taking a web project from the development phase to the final product or in some cases for creating or customizing Drupal modules to integrate with other applications.

Responsibilities:

• Working with a team (designers, creative director, project manager, and other developers) to create compelling and cutting edge web sites and web applications.
• Responsible for turning design and user interface mockups into functional web sites.
• Custom programming and web application development.
• Testing, maintenance, and troubleshooting of existing client sites.
  

Requirements:

• Independence, willingness to learn and problem solving skills are a must.
• At least two years of related work experience/education.
• Must be able to handle a face paced work environment, deadlines, and new challenges.
• Ability to communicate and work well with others.
  

Technical Skills:

• Significant experience with Drupal API, themes and assets.
• Proficient with handcoding HTML and tableless CSS.
• Advanced knowledge and implementation of W3C Web Standards.

• Macromedia Flash/Action Scripting is an asset.
  

Compensation:

Rates will range from $20-30/hr depending on education, experience and abilities. Home
based/telecommuting contract work is most desired, but onsite opportunities are possible should we find the right candidate.
