Responsibilities:
- Serve as primary escalation point for the Server Operations Center in identifying, troubleshooting and resolving network problems
- Develop and document procedures for problem resolution
- Create tools and scripts for monitoring the Akamai global network using tools such as SQL, PERL, Python
- Perform advanced system administration for the Akamai deployed network
- Serve as product coordinator on product development teams to represent Operations concerns.
- Perform installations of Akamai’s proprietary software across the many different networks
- Provide training to Operations and Engineer
- Server as liaison to Engineering groups
Qualifications:
- 5-8 years experience in system administration, network operations, or other related field.
- Solid understanding of UNIX-based and Windows operating systems and of advanced networking and Internet principles
- Proficient with SQL, PERL, UNIX scripting
- Strong inter-personal and communication skills, attention to detail required.
- Participate in on-call rotation
- B.S. In Computer Science or related technical discipline
