C++ Media Software Developer at CISCO.com

This position generally requires the following skills:

Responsibilities
1. Design and architect media control and processing software on Linux platforms
2. Develop and implement media services based RTP/RTCP protocol extensions
3. Develop application modules in C / C++
4. Drive memory profiling and optimizations
5. Participate in code reviews, test plan reviews
6. Over time lead small technical initiatives with small teams of engineers


Requirements
Requires use of a strong background in SW design, documentation and implementation.
C/C++ on Linux: Candidate should be fluent with C/C++, know standard library, be able to demonstrate understanding of Linux system calls, including synchronization, networking, etc. Knowledge of Linux Kernel is a plus.
Candidate must have experience implementing RTP/RTCP protocols, in particular RTP mixing/conferencing.
C/C++ on Linux: The ideal candidates will have exposure with land-mobile radio technologies, specially in the p25 or Tetra space. Experience in PoC (push-to-talk over cellular) will be desirable.
Understanding of basic networking technologies, including Multicast is a plus.

Typically requires MSEE/CS combined with 5-7 years of related experience, or BSEE/CS combined with 7-10+ yrs related experience.
