Telecoms Product Manager at skype

The Brief
Overall responsibility for managing Skype’s Consumer Telecommunications offering.

Key Responsibilities
In partnerships with the greater telecom team and all other relevant parties in the company, manage the following responsibilities:

Market knowledge & User Research:
  • Develop a thorough understanding of user needs and segmentation.
  • Product Roadmap: Build and maintain a user focussed product roadmap.
  • Product Prioritisation: Produce Concept Brief documents and necessary business case analysis to support the product prioritisation process.
  • Pricing and proposition Responsible for pricing and elasticity analysis for Skype´s global telecom offering. Taking part in defining company proposition, e.g. focus between free and paid.
  • Product Development: Managing a team responsible for specification and project management of product improvements.
  • Product Delivery & Launches: Ensure a successful roll-out of features, enhancements and fixes.
  • Meeting targets: Analyse and track the agreed product metrics. Budgeting.
  • Best Practice: Developing and implementing routines and processes for the team.
  • Team manager: Manage a team of 3-4 project and product managers.
Pre-requisite Knowledge, Skills and Experience
  • Experience in product management, including proposition development of paid for services
  • Solid experience in a project-type environment - product manager, programme manager or project manager in another web or communications company including cross-functional team coordination and working
  • Strategy & analytics experience
  • Strong understanding of communications products and features as well as trends in the industry
  • Operational experience in telecommunications company desirable
