SDK Automation Engineer at VMware

Location: Pune, India

Job Description:
The goal is tbuild automation test framework for Quality Validation purposes of VMware products using the VirtualInfrastructure SDK. The SDK provides ISVs (i.e., systems management vendors, enterprise management frameworks, imaging and provisioning vendors, storage management vendors, etc.) a seamless way tintegrate management of VMware products inttheir data center management solutions. VMware’s VirtualInfrastructure products include functionality tprovision new virtual machines, discovery, inventory, and audit functions in virtual environments, access real-time performance data ability tcontrol all VM-related operations from within the systems management framework, including configuration changes and migrations ability ttrigger VM operations, specifically migrations & failover operations, based on application level monitoring

Responsibilities:
We will need experienced Testing and Automation engineers twrite the automated tests outlined in the test plan. The test plan will be primarily written by the team, and will cover the following areas:
  • Positive/Negative Functional/Regression tests for Web Service
  • Positive/Negative Functional/Regression test for Host Library
  • Limits tests
  • Error recovery (Exception handling) tests
  • Security tests
  • Stress tests
  • Performance tests
  • Resource leak tests
Requirements:
  • BE/MS/MTech in computer science or equivalent
  • Minimum 3 years programming/test development work/industry experience
  • Java programming (Java certification)
  • PERL or Shell scripting
  • Software Engineering (QA methodologies)
  • Test Automation
  • Linux & Windows system administration.
  • Excellent communications skills (verbal & written) in English.
Desired skills:
  • Familiarity with VMware products Virtual Center, ESX and GSX
  • Microsoft Visual Studi.NET & C# experience
  • Familiarity with WSDL, SOAP, XML
  • C++ programming experience
  • Prior experience in closely working with US-based teams is a big plus.
