Business Analyst – Oracle Financials at VMware

Job Description:

One of the fastest growing software companies on the planet seeks an Oracle 11i Business Analyst with experience in the Oracle 11i Financial modules. The position would work closely with Finance Business users timplement and support international roll-outs specifically for FA & GL modules. The candidate will alssupport the Financial Planning & Analysis group in implementing BI dashboards/ portals, Budgeting and Forecasting systems.
This position interacts with all levels of internal customers. That interaction requires excellent communication and customer service skills in identifying business needs and facilitating the implementation of technical solutions. Effectiveness in this role alsrequires flexibility tadapt tchange, in-depth knowledge of the customer’s operations, internal systems, the ability tidentify opportunities for new or improved systemization and work effectively in a team environment. The candidate works on problems of diverse scope and complexity where analysis of data requires a review of a variety of factors, exercises logical judgment within broadly defined procedures.

Responsibilities:
  • The Analyst will participate in the following tasks:
  • Assist in user requirements gathering and documentation; provide alternatives based on best practices and application functionality
  • Support end users with production issues
  • Support global implementation of Fixed Assets and General Ledger with localizations as needed.
  • Develop functional specifications and work with technical resources tcomplete development and testing
  • Review testing plans, testing scripts
  • Experience with SOX controls/ compliance desirable
  • Participate in system-level tests responsible for comparing actual results with expected results
  • Prepare technical documentation as part of SDLC process
  • Design interfaces and extensions as needed
  • Design reports using standard tools including Oracle Reports, Discoverer, BI tools and FSG
  • Preparing data interface technical and functional specifications

Qualifications:
  • Minimum 8 years implementation with Oracle Financial modules.
  • Experience with Oracle Financial Analytics/ BI a plus.
  • Minimum 4 years experience as Business Analyst working with Oracle Fixed Assets, General Ledger:
  • Essential: Knowledge of Procurement-Assets Flows, Asset Assignments & Tracking, Asset Maintenance, Multiple Asset Books, Depreciation and GL interface
  • Experience with multi-org, multi-currency, multiple-sets of books implementations, consolidations, reporting and knowledge of accounting practices including localizations and developing FSGs
  • Knowledge of SDLC processes and tools
  • Must have experience preparing technical specifications, detailed design documents and developing test cases
  • Business Analysis experience in a high-tech (preferable software) company desirable.
  • Extensive financial process and functional knowledge
  • Accounting or finance background a plus
Education:
  • 4-year degree (minimum) in Information Systems or related discipline
  • Advanced degree would be a plus
  • Oracle certifications would be a plus
