Right Media created and operates the Right Media Exchange, the open exchange for interactive advertising. All buyers and sellers in the exchange are interconnected on a common platform, have equal access to media and trade seamlessly. It’s a new vision for interactive advertising, which is a fragmented and very competitive space right now.

With current buyers and sellers trading 4-5 billion impressions on the Exchange daily, we need more forward-thinking, business and technology-savvy entrepreneurs who can support our further growth.

We have a multi-tiered system with multiple internal and external applications and APIs, databases and servers. Due to growth and increased usage of our external APIs, we are seeking an experienced API Technical Client Advocate.

You will be responsible for interaction with and support of third party application developers, and will work closely with the Right Media Exchange’s API engineering and customer solutions teams. The ideal candidate loves troubleshooting customer issues, working with engineering, participating in developer communities, and has a combination of web application development, and integration experience. Strong communication and decision making skills are also required.

Responsibilities include:
  • Assist third party developers to troubleshoot technical issues integrating with RMX APIs (SOAP)
  • Manage API support queues and work with engineering to solve integration problems through various channels, including online discussion forums, FAQ’s, examples, documentation, email, instant messenger and phone conversations
  • Write and troubleshoot API client libraries and sample code in ASP, .Net, C#, C/C++, Java, Python, Perl, PHP, Ruby, and/or JavaScript
  • Continually work to enhance the user experience of developers using YM APIs and raise the visibility and perception of APIs at the executive level

Minimum Job Qualifications:
  • BA/BS degree in computer science or another technical subject; or equivalent work experience
  • Self-directed, motivated, and a driven performer
  • Ability to communicate technical issues/concepts clearly and effectively
  • Comfortable working directly with customers with composure and tact
  • Demonstrated experience solving problems quickly, inventively, and resourcefully
  • Naturally inquisitive with self-sufficient research skills; excellent attention to detail
  • Able to write code (but do not want to code as their full time job)
  • Ideal candidate will have 2-4 years experience in api development, technical support, sales engineering, or consulting for technology companies
  • Experienced (2-4 years) with XML and web services (SOAP, WSDL, REST, RSS, Apache Axis)
  • Fluent (1-2 years) in two or more of: Java, C/C++, C#, ASP, .Net, Python, Perl, PHP, and/or Ruby
  • 2+ years of web application development experience; web-based API integration highly desirable
  • Familiarity with Unix/Linux, Windows, and Mac desirable
  • Strong Unix scripting a plus
  • Some business travel (up to 25%) may be required

Work Plan by Quarter After Joining:

Q1
  • Get acquainted with our development environments and API environment and code (php)
  • Get acquainted with API Cerberus, Jira API issue tracking systems
  • Review and improve all API documentation and examples (on Wiki and our website)
  • Moderate and monitor our API user discussion forums
  • Work with offshore API development team and help triage API tickets
  • Start working with Alana on any API support related issues (i.e. documentation etc.)
Q2
  • Work with offshore API developers on setting up new API users
  • Start documenting different API setup needs for different environment if need be, creating examples of setups and usage.
  • Own API documentation needs and pages

Q3
  • Everything listed above
  • Able to handle most if not all the API tickets
  • Able to handle setting up new API users if any

This position is full-time in New York, NY. This is not a telecommute or contract position. Salary commensurate with experience.

Linux / Unix System Administrator at Google.com


Google is looking for exceptional System Administrators, at all levels of experience, to help support and design our growing internal computing infrastructure.

Our team consists of some of the brightest and highest-caliber people in the field. We design and support Google's internal computing infrastructure, including core services (DNS, LDAP, Kerberos, mail), internal applications, customized operating systems, monitoring, databases, performance tuning, etc. As a member of this team, you will work to improve Google's infrastructure, design and support new services, write tools to monitor and maintain systems, and help ensure 24x7 availability of services.

Requirements:
  • BS or MS in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
  • Multiple years of Linux or UNIX system administration experience desired, but candidates of all levels will be considered.
  • Strong knowledge of TCP/IP networking, network and application-level security, and OS internals (filesystems, storage, process lifecycle, etc).
  • Proven dedication to users and doing what's right for the organization as a whole.
  • Fluency in at least one high-level programming language (bash, perl, python, C, or similar).
  • Strong diagnostic and debugging skills.
  • Experience deploying and maintaining web servers, file servers, firewalls, directory services, DNS, MTAs, etc.
  • A driving sense of craftsmanship, quality, and ownership.
  • Ability to handle periodic on-call duty and occasional off-hours work.
  • Excellent verbal and written skills
