Senior Server Automation Engineer at GoDaddy

Job Description

Responsibilities of the Role include but are not limited to:
  • Creation of automation routines using scripting technologies such as WMI, WSH, ADSI, VBS, C#, Perl, Java and PowerShell for the following:
  • Server Provisioning
  • OS Customization and Configuration
  • Deploying and maintaining Windows IIS 5.0 / 6.0
  • .NET
  • SSL certificate installation, configuration, and backups
  • Patch management and host hardening
  • Configuration Management
  • Working with development and testing staff to identify requirements and implement solutions.
  • The position requires exceptional analytical and problem solving skills, and the individual must possess a structured, methodical approach to systems administration
  • Skills/Requirements
Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • Up to date Windows MCSE certification preferred.
  • In-depth knowledge of Active Directory
  • Expert level experience with Windows scripting technologies such as WMI, WSH, ADSI, VBS and PowerShell.
  • Proven ability to be able to provision servers in a large scale environment (thousands of servers)
  • Knowledge of Configuration Management Best Practices
  • At least 4 years working as a Windows Engineer.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Experience in the following is a plus:
  • Knowledge of Opsware and/or other Server Automation Technology
  • Knowledge of C#, Java and other programming languages
  • Knowledge of Networking, Routing and Switching Technologies
  • Server Virtualization Technologies
  • SAN and NAS technologies (iSCSI, FCP, CIFS, NFS, etc)

Storage Engineer at Facebook

Facebook is seeking a Storage Engineer with SAN and NAS experience. This is a full-time position based in our main office in downtown Palo Alto and will report to the Director of Operations.

Location: Palo Alto, CA

Responsibilities:
  • Architect and tune SAN/NAS solutions for various applications
  • Design and manage backup infrastructure and architecture
  • Setup and optimize hardware, kernel and appliances
  • Track usage and plan for future needs for each LUN
  • Provide on-call support for storage related events
  • Participate in 24x7 on-call support

Requirements:
  • B.S. in Computer Science or equivalent experience
  • 4+ years of experience focused on SAN storage
  • Strong preference for candidates with prior technology operations experience for a high-traffic top-25 consumer Internet service
  • Intimate knowledge of HDS, Brocade, fiber channel protocols and SAN design
  • Experience with such storage systems as NetApp, EMC, IBM, STK and 3PAR preferred
